• Character Education:

Character Education is a deliberate effort to cultivate virtue......It is not an add-on......it is a whole-school effort to create a community of virtue...... where behaviors such as respect, honesty, kindness, hard work and self-control are promoted explicitly, modeled, taught, expected, celebrated, and continuously practiced in everyday actions...

Character education is the constellation of virtues, or objectively good human qualities a person possesses.

Character development programs nurture the personal attributes upon which communities agree. These attributes are identified through a process of school, family,  and community consultation, and transcend socioeconomic and cultural diversity. By identifying these attributes, communities find common ground on the qualities which schools should foster through systematic and intentional practices.
