Open Enrollment for 2020-2021 at Randall School
The Randall School Board of Education approved the following Open Enrollment seats for the 2020-2021 School Year at its January 15, 2020, Board Meeting:
Available Seats in Grades: EC, 4K, 5K
Zero Seats Available in Grades: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (includes NO SEATS AVAILABLE for any special education services, including speech and language in grade levels 1-8)
ALL CURRENT OPEN ENROLLED STUDENTS WILL REMAIN OPEN ENROLLED INTO RANDALL SCHOOL. THERE IS NO NEED TO REAPPLY.
The Open Enrollment Program is Wisconsin's inter-district public school program, which allows students to attend school districts other than the one in which they live. Students are accepted by nonresident districts based on availability of space at each grade level and priorities set by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI). The Open Enrollment selection process is described in Board Policy Rule 423. Parents are responsible for providing transportation. The application dates for this program for the 2020/2021 School Year are 12:00 a.m. February 3, 2020 through 4:00 p.m. April 30, 2020. If you want to apply for Open Enrollment, you are encouraged to apply online using the Department of Public Instruction’s online application at this link. Please note that the online applications will not be available until 12:00 a.m. February 3, 2020. During the application period, a computer will be available in the Randall School District Office for your use in accessing the online application. Limited paper applications will be available at the District Office only. Parents must submit paper applications to the Randall School District, 37101 87th St., Burlington, WI 53105, no earlier than February 3, 2020 and no later than 4:00 p.m. on April 30, 2020. A postmark does not meet this requirement.
Applications for the Open Enrollment Program must be submitted in the nonresident district. Please note that state law requires that we strictly adhere to these application dates. Students currently attending our schools under Open Enrollment do not need to reapply unless notified to do so, however, students currently attending under a Tuition Waiver must apply for Open Enrollment during the application period. Currently attending Tuition Waiver students and siblings of Open Enrollment students will be considered.
In addition, if you move before the end of the year, we will help you complete the necessary paperwork for your child to continue in our school district until the year ends.
Wisconsin State Statute on open enrollment students and attendance:
Wisconsin statute 118.51 states that if a non-resident school board determines that a pupil attending the non-resident school district under this section is habitually truant during either semester in the current year, the non-resident school board may prohibit the pupil from attending the nonresident school district the succeeding semester or school year.
