Wonder Struck

Author and Illustrator:  Brian Selznick

This book has two parts. The typed pages are for Ben and the pictures are Rose telling a story.  It is about when Ben and Rose secretly wish their lives were different. Rose dreams of being an actress who keeps the events of her life in a scrapbook. Ben’s secret wish is that he longs for a father that he has never known.

This book is really artistic. Benn tells the story using words and Rose tells her part of the story with pencil drawings.  At first the book looks huge, but it is filled mostly with pencil drawings. I think it would be a perfect book for someone in grades 4-8. Get this awesome book now!

The Strange Case of the Origami Yodas

Author and Illustrator:  Tom Angleberger

I loved this book, The Strange Case of Origami Yoda!  Thee book starts as a kid named Tommy seeks answers from Origami Yoda. Tommy and his classmates narrate this middle grade mystery;  each classmate gets to write a chapter.  The book is funny and humorous. My favorite character is Dwight. He is a loser that is always up in a cloud.  The book even shows you how to make your own Origami Yoda. I really think you will like this book!

Rip Tide

Kat Falls

Ty and Gemma are living underwater and are now in a huge trash vortex. They find an anchored township. Ty’s Pa calls the Seagaurd, but the next morning Ty’s parents are captured by surfs. Desperate to find them, Ty heads for Rip Tide, where Gemma’s brother, Shade, is getting arrested. They break him out and escape in his sub, heading for Hardluck Ruins. To find out the rescue of Ty’s parents, the mystery to the anchored townships, and the fate of the ocean, read Rip Tide by Kat Falls!

I love the Dark Life series, and you should read them too. This book was the best book I ever read! I recommend you reading this book and also Kat Falls’s first novel, Dark Life, which are now at Randall School library! So grab Rip Tide and dive into an aquatic adventure!
