Kindergarteners study some of the World's Famous Artists through out the school year. They complete an artist page for each artist and collect these pages in their art portfolio.
At present they have studied the work and life of Georgia O'Keeffe, Maria Martinez, Pablo Picasso, and presently they are working on self-portraits after researching the art of Rembrandt Van Rijn. Our research includes reading Mike Venezia's Rembrandt book in his series Getting to Know The World's Greatest Artists and an Internet Workshop from the site:

The final phase are the personal details. In other words, the parts that make us original: Our hair color and style, our smile, the color of our eyes, the shape of our nose,
eye lashes and brows.
