~Math~

Grades 3-6 can be in Math EXCEL, and grades 7 and 8 can be in the Algebra classes. 

Mrs. Erbentraut teaches the younger Math EXCEL students, while Mrs. Beuthling teaches

the Algebra classes.

You do many different projects such as Think Lab, where you answer problems that have you

think outside the box to solve.

~Academic~

 Grades 4-8 can be chosen for Academic EXCEL.  Mrs. Erbentraut teaches all of the EXCEL

groups.  Every year you vote on a group project to participate in, and as you get older,

you are allowed to participate in a larger variety of projects. 

Each grade goes on field trip each year.  The fourth and fifth graders go to the Milwaukee Zoo,

then the other EXCELs go on field trips of their choice or that relate to their projects. 

~Music~

Grades 4-8 can audition for Music EXCEL.  Grade 4 is instructed by Mrs. Hacker, and grades 5-8

are instructed by Mrs. Diaz.  7th and 8th grade Music EXCELs participate in WSMA District Solo

 and Ensemble each year for ratings.  Some groups have the opportunity to go to state.

All music groups perform at the spring and winter concerts each year. 

~Art~

Grades 4-8 can submit artwork to become a member of Art EXCEL.  Grades 4-5 are taught by

 Mrs. Tenhagen, and grades 6-8 are taught by Mrs. Fredrickson. 

In Art EXCEL, you do more challenging art projects than the regular art class, similar to an

accelerated Art class.
